When is a litter planned?
We are planning a litter Spring 2025.
How do I get on the waitlist?
The first step is for us to meet in person, if possible. For my safety, and the safety of the dogs, the first meeting is done in a public place. The dogs and I attend shows and events across Ontario (and occasionally in Quebec and the Maritimes). I encourage people to connect with us at an event. This allows us the opportunity to get to know each other a bit and determine whether we could be a good fit to work together. Most importantly, of course, this allows you to meet the dogs!
Once we have met, you will be welcome to come visit the farm and see where/how the dogs live.
If you are outside of the area we show in, we can start with a video call. I have dog-show friends across the country and have had success having them do a meet-up on my behalf.
Are you taking deposits?
We do not take deposits in advance of a litter. Once a pregnancy is confirmed, we take a small ($100) deposit to confirm interest, this deposit is refundable if we do not have an appropriate puppy for you.
How are puppies placed? Can I choose a puppy?
We match puppies based on independent temperament testing combined with our own knowledge of individual temperaments gleaned from spending nearly 24 hours a day with the pups , independent conformation evaluations, and results of BAER (hearing) testing. We want each family to feel like they have the perfect fit.
What this process means, however, is that there isn't a guarantee that each person on our list will be matched with a puppy. We strive to balance the length of the list with the anticipated number of puppies to prevent disappointment, but our commitment is to the puppies, ensuring they are in the "right" place. I fully understand that not everyone is comfortable with a process that doesn't *guarantee* a puppy, and absolutely respect that some people will choose to go elsewhere for this reason.
Will you ship pups?
It's important to note that we won't ship puppies. We have pups from previous litters living their best lives in Alberta and Michigan; both of these wonderful families travelled to us to pick up their pup.
We are very happy to help you find a wonderful puppy from a breeder that fits your timeline or your geographic area; please don't hesitate to reach out!
Can I come visit the puppies?
We welcome visitors once we know people. If we’ve never met, we welcome you to come meet our dogs and us at a show or event. Once we have established a relationship and feel comfortable with each other, you’ll be welcome to come to the farm. When the puppies are old enough to be socialized with new people, we will be welcoming trusted visitors to the house, observing strict health protocols for safety.
